What is New Lease on Life?

Across the country, pounds and shelters are overwhelmed with the number of stray and owned animals surrendered every day. Reasons range from abandonment to foreclosure to allergies to moving and more. Mahoning County is no exception. Each day, hundreds of animals suddenly find themselves homeless, usually through no fault of their own.

The sad reality is that when shelters fill that last cage and more animals are headed in the door, the dogs and cats who have been at the shelter the longest are often euthanized to make room for the new arrivals. These are healthy, friendly pets who just haven’t found the right family to adopt them yet.

That’s where we come in. New Lease on Life is dedicated to reducing euthanasia rates in local pounds and shelters by saving the animals who are next on the euthanasia list and giving them a second opportunity to find happiness. But we need your help. If you’re thinking about adding a new pet to your family, consider adoption. These animals are not “leftovers” or “used.” They are loving cats and dogs who simply don’t yet have families… because they’ve been waiting for you.

All of our cats are fully litterbox trained, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, tested, dewormed, flea treated and socialized with both other cats and dogs.

All of our dogs have been temperament tested and either started or completed obedience training. They are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative and on preventative, dewormed, flea treated and socialized with both other dogs and cats.

All adoptive families also receive our two-week health guarantee, lifetime return guarantee and lifetime behavioral counseling if any problems should arise.

“Helping You Forge a Lifelong Bond” is more than just our motto. It’s our commitment to you.
